Pawnee City city clerk Tamela Curtis celebrated her 25th anniversary of working for the city this July. In those 25 years, Clerk Curtis has worked alongside five mayors and 21 council members. “And a lot of them had strong opinions,” she laughed.Clerk Curtis’s career started in chaos and turmoil.

September 1, 2026 in a tragic accident with a car. He was an escapee from the city doggie jail. He was loved by all who encountered him. He was a friendly, skittish dog who just loved his freedom. He will be sorely missed by all.
